35 RSHM alumnae and friends of the Eastern Area gathered at the Royal Palm Country Club in Naples, FL to celebrate the charism of the Institute and share their stories and gratitude for the many gifts they have received from the sisters. Sister Catherine Patten gave a very good overview of RSHM today and the realistic but exciting expectations for the future. She focused on both the needs of the Convent Building and the retired sisters, as well as the ministries of the Eastern American Area.
8 different RSHM schools were represented. The three sisters from Immokalee were able to join us as well as Sister Roz Blanchet, who recently completed her period as Superior General of the Institute. At the suggestion of one of the participants, Maureen Callanan, there will be a visit to Immokalee by a number of women from Naples to see the ministries.
Sam Stanton, Advancement Director, closed the event with an invitation to support and partner with the ministries and other needs we have. Both he and Sister Catherine then thanked Marge Karl Geraghty for bringing this event together and sponsoring it.
