As always, I enjoyed the latest edition of Highlights. What a joy to see Genevieve’s amazing pencil portraits! Apparently, a former president is not the only one to discover an artistic gift late in life. And, of course, I very much appreciated the summary of Catherine Vincie’s piece on baptism, especially her affirmation of the need to understand the paschal mystery not in terms of traditional understandings of atonement (e.g., penal substitution! Ugh!) but in terms of the Christic identity, mission and communion (a very different understanding of at-ONE-ment). Thanks to all who work on this publication!
