Your Support Matters
The RSHM Eastern American Area’s ministries include education, social and legal services, pastoral work, spiritual direction, and advocacy for justice. We serve those most in need of justice: the powerless, the marginalized, and the voiceless.
Our retired sisters continue to minister to others through volunteer work and prayer.
Your gift makes a difference. Together we continue to make God’s love known. Thank you!

Other Ways to Give
There are many ways to support the RSHM.
Monthly Giving: Spread your support throughout the year as a monthly donor.
Matching Gifts: Some corporations match employees’ and their spouses’ charitable contributions dollar-for-dollar. Contact your Human Resources Office.
Donor Advised Fund: Recommend a grant in support of the RSHM
Will or Bequest: A gift of cash, property, or a percentage of your estate may be left to the Sisters through your will or trust.
Stock and Securities: A gift of appreciated stock allows you to avoid the tax on the gain and receive a deduction for the value of the stock at the time of the gift. You may also gift mutual funds.
IRA Tax Free Transfer: If you are 70 ½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 per person from your IRA account. The distribution is not taxed. However, this gift does not qualify as a charitable contribution. The contribution must be an outright gift and must be a direct transfer from the IRA manager to the charity.
Life Insurance: If you have a paid life insurance policy you no longer need, it may be donated to the RSHM. You receive a charitable deduction (approximately the cash value). You might also consider leaving a percentage of the insurance policy to the RSHM.
Real Estate: A real estate gift can consist of an outright gift of various types of property: commercial building, subdivision lots, farm, or ranch. Or, you can also make a “retained life estate” gift by which you designate ownership of your home to the RSHM, but you retain occupancy. Benefits include an immediate tax deduction and lifetime use of your home.
Retirement Assets: Make a gift of your retirement assets by naming RSHM as a beneficiary of the remainder of the assets after your lifetime.
