Whether it’s to protect ourselves from life’s harshness or an attempt to look good in the eyes of others, we often don the armor of invincibility. All the time our true self, loved into being by God, aches to be acknowledged rather than betrayed. Bill Wilson wrote, “We’ll make it not because we’re a better people – but because we’re a weaker people.” Our faith reminds us we are embraced by a Loving, Vulnerable God who promises to be with us always.
